admissions process
Beginnings
- Watch the KLCA Video Presentation Slides or Attend an Informational Session and Have Your Youth Shadow a Day at KLCA. Parents are required to watch the video presentation about the school at https://kingslight.org/admission to fully understand the expectations of their involvement in the education of their child at King’s Light Christian Academy. Parents will fill out the Contact Information Form which is under Admission Document on the Admission page.
- Complete an Application Form and References Upon receiving the Contact information form the parent/guardian will be sent links to complete the application form along with all academic records and other information. Provide three references as instructed in the application form. You will be invoiced for the $100 application and may pay online or via check. This is a non-refundable fee. A copy of the KLCA Handbook will be emailed to the parent/guardian to review before the scheduling of the Family Interview. (If interested in the Academic Scholarship Program, please request the application on the Contact Information Form.)
Introductions
- Family Interview The purpose of the Family Interview is to make certain that each family has a personal opportunity to have all their questions about the school after having reviewed the handbook to help determine if King’s Light Christian Academy is the best educational option for their child.
- Entrance testing Entrance testing is required for all new students enrolling in academic classes. Tests are given to determine placement in the appropriate grade level according to a child's Math and Language skills in relation to our curriculum. Parents are required to supply copies of the student’s school grade reports and/or achievement testing (within the last 2 years) prior to or at the time of testing. There is a one-time $150 fee per student for entrance testing for students.
Welcome to the family
- Formal Acceptance and Checklist Once the entrance testing, family interview, and all entrance forms have been completed, the family will be informed of the Admissions Committee’s decision. An Acceptance Letter will be emailed to the parents which will include the checklist of supplies and uniform requirements to prepare for the new year. (Uniforms can take 4 weeks to arrive. Please order those promptly.) A $150 enrollment fee will be invoiced at this time.
- Attend Parent/Student Orientation Held the week before classes begin, your class orientation is the time to meet faculty and staff and get trained on the Canvas platform. This is the exciting first step for your student’s success at KLCA.
Application fee
Thank you for your interest in KLCA. Your fee goes towards the processing of the application. Make checks payable to King's Light Christian Academy. Please write in the note, "Application Fee". The address to mail it to is 8233 Sperryville Pile Culpeper, VA 22701.
